Habit #2 Treat life as an experiement
"I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work." - Thomas Edison
Consider the following examples of innovative leaders who understood the value of experimentation.
- WD-40's product name comes from the project that was to find a "water displacement" compound. The engineers at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company were successful with the 40th formulation, thus WD-40.
- James Dyson, creator of the Dyson vacuum cleaner created 5,128 prototypes before he had something he could sell.
What are some of your experiments? Please comment and share what you have learned.
...stay tuned for the next post on habit #3.
